In The Middle Ages owned by the Croatian nobleman's family Subic, later the Diocese of Sibenik and some of the noble families in Sibenik had Pirovac in its power and with all its beautiful beaches it has always been a place for relaxation for the privileged ones, a place for pleasant living. Today Pirovac is a picturesque place 25 km west of Šibenik. A part from tourism, about 1500 inhabitants of Pirovac have remained faithful to a traditional, healthy way of living that is based on fishing industry and agriculture (cherry, marasca, olives, wine grape, fig). The place has kept all typical characteristics of the mediterranean architecture with closely built houses made of stone and with narrow crooked streets - the lifeblood of the whole place.
